The Theme Galleries house exhibits of varying themes reflected through philatelic materials, artefacts and objects. Visitors learn more about these themes through multi-media interactives and hands-on exhibits and displays.

“Beijing Olympic Games” stamp display
From 5 August to 31 October 2008, see a collection of Olympic stamps issued by China that depict 2008 Beijing Olympic mascots and Olympic venues, the Olympic torch and emblem, and stamp and coin memorabilia for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Ode to Our Heroes
Postage stamps feature the significant events, history, heritage, cultures and people of a country. At this stamp display, view stamps of Singapore that feature people who have made a difference, including pioneers, NSmen, the police force and nurses. Then read heartfelt letters written by school students, about their ‘heroes’.

Dragons, Treasures and Masterpieces
Take an exciting journey through the rich cultural heritage of China illustrated on stamps. Rare collections on display include the first official postage stamp of China from the Qing Dynasty (1878 - 1911), and award-winning philatelic materials on the Cultural Revolution (1966 - 1976) from local philatelist Mr Charles Loong. View the museum's collection of contemporary stamps documenting UNESCO World Heritage Sites and various aspects of Chinese cultural heritage such as classical literature, paintings and calligraphy, historical relics and Beijing opera.

Journey through the Land of Lotus
Experience Vietnam's unique history and culture through an engaging showcase of Vietnamese stamps and philatelic items at the Singapore Philatelic Museum! Unravel interesting stories of the country's heritage through stamps and admire Vietnamese traditional outfits, including the Ao Dai, a display of water puppets, as well as miniature dolls representing the large number of minority groups in Vietnam.

A Rat's Tale
Find out why the rat leads the pack in the Chinese zodiac, and the traits of those born under this zodiac sign. Admire beautiful rat-themed stamps, including zodiac stamps from around the world.
